The training will be comprised of a
1) Lean 101 Workshop – day 1
2) Value Stream Mapping Workshop – day 2
3) 5-S Workplace Organization & Standardization Workshop – day 2
4) Standardized Work Overview + Test + a Plant Tour to see an example of an organization that has implemented lean practices – day 3
These workshops cover the fundamental tools used in Lean implementations. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a technique for creating a material and information flow map of a product family, allowing companies to trace the flow of products from raw materials through all manufacturing and office steps to the finished product. The Current State Map depicts the company's present state, while the Future State Map illustrates its goals and the path to achieve them. By utilizing VSM, companies can streamline work processes, reduce lead times, and lower operating costs, forming the basis for a lean implementation roadmap.
Participants will engage in a factory simulation for hands-on learning, connecting theoretical tools with practical experience. The core principle of lean manufacturing is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste in the manufacturing process. Participants will learn about key lean tools to integrate into a comprehensive lean implementation plan, focusing on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and increasing customer value.
The Lean Bronze 3-day program includes foundational workshops (Lean 101, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S Workplace Organization), a review and test, and a plant tour. This program introduces Lean concepts through classroom training and a factory simulation exercise, integrating these tools to effectively identify process waste and demonstrate mastery through successful test completion.
