This position will estimate the work of projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. This position will oversee and coordinate various construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.

Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.

Develops bids for construction projects. Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes. Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collection information.

Provides leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, or other involved parties; develops detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete project.

Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budget the time necessary to meet budget progress and costs.

Ensures adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issue arise, makes quick and necessary adjustments.

Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs activities about the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities, and systems.

Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.

Oversees contract negotiations, revisions, and additions and adherence by all parties.

Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the job sites.

Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, supervisors, foremen, laborers.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

BA in Engineering, construction science, civil engineering or similar relevant field required. 

Previous working experience as a construction estimator of at least 5 years required. Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects. 

In-depth knowledge of project management.

Hands-on experience with complex data research activities. 

Good time-management skills, ability to multi-task.

Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills. 

Ability to make intelliegent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays. 

Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. 

May require travel.

Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers. 

Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite(s).
